What to expect when you visit First United:
A diverse group of real people - from 9 to 90 year-olds, we are a multi-generational church, with some folks who have attended since the 40s and others who just plugged in last week. We are LGBTQIA+ affirming and include queer folks in every level of leadership.
Casual atmosphere - If you like to wear jeans or shorts, that’s pretty standard; if you like to dress up, we won't judge you.
A sermon that won’t put you to sleep - In fact the sermon might just make you think, inspire you to change, or challenge your assumptions.
Kid-friendly atmosphere - We celebrate children and include them in our church community, providing a safe and fun environment for them to learn and grow.
An ancient-future worship style - we worship with a mix of liturgy, sacred readings, sermons, silence, reflection, prayer, and hymns and praise music played by our amazing house band.
A sacred space to encounter God - our beautiful sanctuary with wood and stained-glass was built in 1928.
